LGBT Pride

I have been asked why I feel so strongly about the LGBT community? My answer is simple – because they are awesome!

Some of my closest friends are gay and they are honestly some of the nicest and most genuine people I know. It does upset me when people get homophobic because of the image they have of them. Even though we have come a long way and that same sex marriage are legal in certain countries, unfortunately there are still a lot of countries that don’t.

I know this is old news now, but when Beauty and the Beast came out, and was banned in certain places because of the gay scene in the movie, it just shows that a lot of people still have such a misunderstanding of the LGBT community. I understand in some religion it is viewed as a ‘sin’, which I totally disagree with, but respect that it is their belief and religion and it is their right to do so. However why do they have to push their beliefs and ideal on others? If they disagree with it, don’t go and watch it, but let others who don’t share your beliefs and religion to watch it if they choose to.

To me, love is love. It has no labels and love have no gender. Love should be celebrated and not shunned just because it is slightly different to what you are used to and here is a video that I would like to share with you as it sums this up perfectly. It brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it, so I hope you enjoy it.
